This figure drawing from life class will allow participating artists to work expressively with charcoal, graphite, ink, and experimental media. Working from a nude model with a focus on gestures and expressive mark making, students will learn unexpected ways to transfer the body onto paper. Studio sessions will begin by working from mirrors and examining your own facial structure. Once the movements and geometries of features are considered, the remainder of the workshop will engage the full figure. The body can be seen and drawn in different ways and the class will touch the surface on many of those methods.
Experience the fun, expressive and experimental media while learning new ways to work from the body with Portland based artist, Sagan Newham.
