Open studio is for currently enrolled students and those who have taken classes within the last 2 years. Reach out to the Ceramic Studio Manager, Pilar Swanson, if you have any questions at ceramics@chehalemculturalcenter.org Studio users Ages 11-15 may use open studio with the supervision and guidance of a guardian - contact our Studio Manager to discuss further. **Studio Discount Codes linked to Summer 2025 Classes will be sent out via email on June 26th.

Where do I purchase clay and supplies?
You can purchase clay and tool kits at the front desk during our standard open hours: Tuesday through Saturday 9am-6pm. Clay prices have been adjusted as below as of May 24, 2024:

When can I expect to pick up my work?
Our studio works hard to get your pieces back to you in a timely manner! Generally this timeline is approximately 10 days from when you place your work on the “To Be Fired” shelf. Please note that the classwork of currently enrolled students takes priority. If your piece is not ready by the 10 day mark or you have specific questions, please reach out to Ceramic Studio Manager Pilar Swanson at ceramics@chehalemculturalcenter.org
OPEN STUDIO HOURS
Open studio hours are subject to change due to programming. Find the most up-to-date information via our sign-up form here. The cost for using the ceramic studio is increasing to $12/hour for 2025 due to increasing expenses for the Ceramics Studio and is included in class pricing for those currently enrolled in adult ceramics classes. Hours below valid through August 30, 2025.
Studio Closures for the Summer: June 23rd-27th for our Teen Ceramic Summer Studios, June 30th-July 6th for Deep Cleaning and reset for Summer classes, the weekend of July 12th & 13th due to our Lavender Festival, Saturday August 16th for Resident Workshop- register here! The studio will be fully closed from August 31st-Sept. 7th for deep cleaning and reset for the fall session. Limited hours on Saturday July 26th and Saturday August 23rd due to Color Theory & Mixing Workshops with Pilar.

Hours typically end 1 hour prior to the start of the class to give our instructors time to set up and prepare. * Please do not enter the studio until your hour starts.
Please note we do not allow adult studio users to enter during our Youth & Teen Ceramic Classes. The studio is closed at those times for the safety of our students.
