Art & Culture Art Club (Ages K - 5)

Venture on an artistic journey starting right here at home and travel around the world through art and imagination! Create projects using a variety of media that are inspired by stories and elements of culture like art, dance, music, traditions, and even food.

Natural Wonders Art Club (Ages K - 5)

Observe and depict the wonders of the natural world through art using mixed media and natural materials. Young artists will develop a better appreciation and love of the beauty of nature while building skills and creativity.

THURSDAYS

Teen Art Character Creation: from Charlie Brown to Legolas and everything in between! 

In this Character Creation Course you’ll be learning how to design and illustrate your own character. Whether it’s for a webcomic about your life, an illustration for your Dungeons & Dragons campaign, or fan art of your favorite anime character, the possibilities are endless! Great class to join if you love anime, manga, Cartoon Network, tabletop RPGs, graphic novels, and video games.

SPRING WORKSHOPS

3 Day Workshop- Weaving with Natural & Recycled Materials (Ages 9-14)

Offered Mar 6, 7 & 14 | 4:30-6pm *Bilingual Instructor

In this three part workshop, students will learn basic weaving techniques by using a mix of natural and recycled materials, including cornhucks, foliage, magazines, recycled plastic bags and recycled fabric. By the end of the class, everyone will walk away with unique and one of a kind hand woven pieces!

Tortilla and Maíz Workshop for Ages 5-Adult - Families welcome!

Thurs Mar 13 | 5-7PM *Bilingual Instructor

Artist-Instructor: Stephanie Juanillo

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn step by step how to prepare their own handmade tortillas. We will use two different methods to form our tasty tortillas, both manually and with a tortilla press. Our class would not be complete without learning the rich history and tradition of maíz! 

$20/workshop- Covers all materials and food

PLEASE NOTE: If enrolling as a family- One registration covers 1 adult & 1 Child. 

Ages 5-7 must have an adult accompany them


Spring Workshop: Bunny Portraits (Grades K-5)

Sat Apr 12 | 10:30am-12:00pm

In celebration of spring, create adorable bunny portraits. Capture the features and personalities of bunnies while exploring various media. Enjoy sketching, watercolor painting and assemblage with repurposed materials.

Calling our young artists to spread their wings and embark on the maiden voyage of The CCC Art Club at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum! Explore the skies using fun art materials and let your creativity soar. Thematic activities are inspired by the museum’s collection including the impressive Spruce Goose to imaginary space scapes and beyond.

Creating & Playing with Spring Herbs (Ages 7-15) 

Play with a variety of herbs to create teas and potions to enjoy at home! In class you'll make tea, infused bath products, lip balm, spell jars, herbal first aid kits, and more.

Creative Threads: Fiber Art for Teens

Ever thought about fabric as art? What about thread as a way to illustrate ideas? This class is about communicating ideas through fabrics, threads and found objects. In this class students will learn how to fuse fabrics, do free motion stitching on a machine, and utilize various embroidery techniques to create a 20” x 20” art quilt of their own design.

Every student will feel empowered in their own artistic ability as they learn essential theatre skills and participate in the group collaboration, whether on stage or off, to put on a one act play in the LaJoie Theatre!
