About We Are Oregon

Each month, the CCC will highlight a segment of Oregon’s population. By sharing our history and culture with one another, we can build a beautiful future.

As Oregonians, we share so many things: a love for the outdoors, an appreciation for diversity, a spirit of tolerance and inclusiveness, a commitment to justice. No matter where we were born, the color of our skin, or who we love, we are all Oregonians.

I originally came up with the idea in 2019. I wanted a small “rotating but permanent” exhibit that would showcase something from a national month: Black history, women’s history, etc.

Working from home in 2020, I was able to start bringing the project to life. Originally, the exhibit was a pair of 11x17 pieces of paper with a timeline, famous people, etc.

In 2022, our amazing Marketing Coordinator helped me create the foam boards and find wall space for a larger exhibition. The exhibition remains a work in progress, and I’m excited to keep working on it.
