Alcohol Ink Project: ”Creative Design”

This workshop draws on your artistic interests; providing participants with opportunities to create art using a stencil or free hand drawing of an object and alcohol inks. Alcohol inks have the fluidity of watercolor while adding interesting layering and blending of colors.

Instructor: Linda McNine

She has offered several workshops through CCC dealing with Alcohol Inks. Additionally she does watercolor, and oil painting and participates in the “Sketchy  Artist” group that meets weekly .

Experience Level: All levels welcome!

Supplies/Materials:

Students Bring: Participants in CCC programs receive a discount at The Merri Artist in McMinnville.

Think about your design. Do you want bright colors? Do you want soft pastel colors? Do you want monotone coloring? Do you want to use any “mixatives” (brass, gold, silver, copper, etc.) for a “jewelry effect”?

Alcohol inks 4 or 5 colors, 1 “mixative”

A large object stencil or drawing of an object.

Bottle of 90% isopropyl alcohol.

Masking fluid

Paint brush to use with masking fluid

Soft lead pencil, 6B or 8B.

Blending stump

Black line markers, thin and one for outlining. You may want a white highlighter.

Hair dryer or air tool

Paper towels

The Instructor will provide Craft plastic and some drawings that could be traced and also materials to share with those that don't have their own.

PLEASE NOTE: 
There is a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 12 students per class. Please join the waitlist if the spots are full. If someone drops the class, all people on the waitlist will receive an automated email to register. It is first-come, first-serve for the open spot.
